We will be having some future events/tributes take place in Nick’s honor:
WAKE FOREST:
An endowed scholarship in Nick’s name that will exist in perpetuity. It will be awarded to a DKE fraternity Brother who exemplifies Nick’s character, leadership, and spirit. (Parent Reception, April 20,2012).
A commemorative bench permanently placed on Wake Forest’s new Business School campus
An annual Nick Napolitano Golf Tournament (Home Coming Weekend, Date TBD) and various social events
WESTMINSTER(HS):
An award given in perpetuity in Nick’s name to a student that embodies the impeccable character of who Nick is.(Honors Ceremony on May 11,2012 at 9am Westminster).
An annual Nick Napolitano Defensive Player Award to recognize a varsity soccer athlete who upholds Nick’s commitment to teamwork, leadership and respect.
Retirement of Nick’s Soccer Jersey ( 7:30PM on April 13, 2012 at Westminster Soccer field).
Only Soccer Team captain to wear Nick’s #2 jersey number
Nick’s #2 will be added to the game and practice soccer jerseys.
An inspirational encased Soccer ball in Nick’s name that will travel to all games and serve as motivation and inspiration.
An Annual Nick Napolitano Memorial Soccer Tournament (Date TBD)
Additional permanent Athletic Acknowledgement (TBD)
TRINITY SCHOOL (Grammar School):
A memorial in Nick’s name to permanently reside on the school campus. (4:00PM on May 18,2012 at Trinity School).
NORTHSIDE YOUTH ORGANIZATION (Baseball):
Nick’s #2 will be added to the All Star team’s jersey
Motivational Shout of All Star Team before start of every game will be “NICK”
This award will be called the “Nick Napolitano Best Buddy” award that recognizes the volunteer who gave the most by putting others first during the Handicapped Baseball season (May 12th 2012)
Dedication of the NYO Memorial is May 12th, 2012.
A garden to be built in Nick’s name that exemplifies teamwork, hard work, athleticism, humility and inspiration.(Dedication at end of Handicapped season, Date TBD).
Other :
An annual Holiday Gathering in Atlanta to honor Nick. (Date TBD)
Additional elements to be added (i.e. an organized annual event at a venue TBD, etc.)
